Vaccinations

No vaccination is required to enter Madagascar unless you have travelled extensively in Africa mainland. In that case, vaccination again Yellow fever will be required.

Malaria prevention

Malaria is focused mainly the coast of Madagascar especially during the rainy seasons. You are advised to ask your physician about the convenient medicines before you come.

Travel insurance

It is advised to buy a good of travel insurance to cover medical expenses, a cancelled trip. There are many representative of international insurance companies in Madagascar which can connect with your travel insurer.

Hospitals

There are big hospitals with good cares in major cities of Madagascar. In smaller localities, there are small hospitals called CSB (Basic health center) classified in two categories CSB I and CSBII. They are can provide good care in case of injuries and needs of small surgeries.

Sanitary evacuation

In case of emergencies, it is possible to have evacuation by helicopters or by airplane within Madagascar. Several private hospitals of international standard propose evacuation services.

Foods

It is advised to eat only cooked meal unless you are being taken to safe and good places by your tour leaders and tour guides. Madagascar has a very good variety of foods, including fruits and vegetables. That will allow you to chose and match your requirements.
